Kick off your shoes and let the fun begin amongst the pristine, natural beauty of the world’s largest sand island.
From the minute you arrive you’ll be in awe of nature. The thrill of adventure will ignite as you set off in a 4WD to across the island where you’ll marvel at the spectacular ancient rainforests, clear blue lakes and lush vegetation until you reach the magnificent Eastern beaches.
Here you’ll feel the rush of fresh water flowing to the ocean at Eli Creek and see what remains of the famous Maheno shipwreck.
Itinerary
Day 1
Your journey begins at Roma Street Station when you board the Tilt Train for the journey north to Maryborough West. On arrival, you will be transferred to Urangan Harbour for your ferry transfer to Fraser Island. This afternoon is free for you to spend exactly as you please. (D)
Day 2
Today, you’ll enjoy a full day 4WD Ranger Guided Eco-Tour of Fraser Island. Explore some of Fraser Island’s famous inland sites, discover the diversity of vegetation and also learn about the island’s cultural history. Drive along the spectacular 75 Mile Beach and visit the Maheno shipwreck. Stop for a swim or paddle in the fresh waters of Eli Creek. The highlight of your day will be a visit to Lake Mackenzie, where you have time for photos and a swim. (B,L,D)
Day 3
Relax this morning and enjoy the resort facilities before boarding a mid-afternoon ferry back to Urangan harbour, where you’ll check into your overnight accommodation.
Day 4
Board your coach for your transfer back to Maryborough West, where you’ll meet the Tilt Train for the journey back to Brisbane. (B)
